Yesterday I wrote about Adam Wedge’s excellent current record when riding for Evan Williams.

He had two rides at Ffos Las. The first Samarian was prominent for a long way but failed to see out the trip finishing 13th out of 14 runners.

Adam’s second ride showed both his versatility and his determination. Whereas he has ridden Samarian from the front, he held up Gilwen Glory until the 7th of the 12 hurdles. He had to get after the horse after that, but she stayed on willingly and eventually wore down the favourite close home for a ¾ length victory and a very tasty 16/1 win for us – she went off at a starting price of 25.0 on Betfair.

Adam’s record for Evan Williams since 28 December now reads 4 winners from 9 rides which is a 44.44% winning strike rate with a level stakes profit of £298.75 to a £10 level stake.

Adam has two rides for Evan Williams at Fakenham today:

In the 1:25 he rides Akarshan in a beginners chase. Akarsham won 4 times and was placed 4 times from 17 starts over hurdles. He has run in two chases to date and was pulled up last time out at Ffos Las on 28 December. He is stepped up in trip today, so it will be interesting to see how he goes. His current price is 6/1.

Adam’s second ride is aboard No More Whispers in the 4:00. No More Whispers does not inspire a great deal of confidence with just 1 placed effort from 8 tries over hurdles. However, he is down 5lb today and Adam Wedge takes off a further 7lb and he is also being tried in a visor as opposed to cheekpieces today.
